Lavern Wilson

LaVern Wilson, 89, of Paola passed away March 7th, 2010 at Olathe Medical Center. He was born near Fontana, Kansas on November 5, 1920 to Lester and Winifred Rainey Wilson. LaVern was blessed with his marriage of 68 years to Vivian Wiseman Wilson. They were married on November 26, 1941 in Fontana. LaVern was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Block, Kansas where he served in several offices. He had a special love for his family, nature, horses, and playing golf with his wife. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and a brother. He is survived by his wife, Vivian, of the home; one son, Loren and wife Beverly of Kansas City, MO; two daughters, Venita and husband Arlin Prothe of Paola, and Vernele Pipes of Lawrence, KS; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church of Block, KS.
