Lauretta Boehm

Lauretta Marie Boehm, age 77, of Paola, passed away Saturday, May 19, 2012 at Olathe Medical Center. Lauretta was born September 23, 1934 in Paola, Kansas to John Homer and Laura Dodds Harris. She grew up in Paola and graduated from Ursuline Academy in 1952. On October 30 1952, Lauretta was united in marriage to John Boehm in Paola. She was a homemaker and mother of 10 children. Her hobbies were flowers, bird watching, baking, crossword puzzles, attending their children"s events, babysitting grandchildren, and sewing. She made several of her daughters' wedding dresses and clothing for the other children and grandchildren. Lauretta enjoyed visiting about current events and discussing politics. She enjoyed cooking pies for the Holy Trinity Church bazaar. She will be greatly missed by family and friends. She is survived by her husband John of the home; 5 daughters, Susie and Rick Shay of Paola, Cathy McMullan, of Paola, Barbara and Roy Wobker of Rantoul, Jane and Bill Sanders of Harrisonville, MO, and Amy and Thomas Horton of Seattle, WA; 5 sons, Larry Boehm, Chris and Cassandra Boehm, Jeff Boehm, Ed and Stacie Boehm, and Dave and Kindra Boehm all of Paola; one brother Robert T. Harris of Paola; 19 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
