Laura A. Greenfield, 90, of Overbrook, Kansas, passed away Monday, May 13, 2013, at Brookside Manor in Overbrook. Funeral Services will be held at Overbrook United Methodist Church, Overbrook, Kansas, 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 17, 2013. Visitation for family and friends will be preceding the service at 1:00 p.m. Interment at Overbrook Cemetery, Overbrook, Kansas. Laura was born on Thursday, July 20, 1922, in Carlton, Kansas, the daughter of John and Clara (Falen) Matthews. She was one of eight children. She has lived in Overbrook since the late 1930’s moving from Herrington, Kansas. On August 22, 1940 Laura was united in marriage with Leslie Greenfield in Topeka, Kansas. They shared 72 years of marriage. Laura was a lifelong homemaker. She was a member of the Overbrook United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. Survivors include her husband, Leslie Greenfield of the home; daughter, Marjorie A. Robb and husband Vernon of Wakarusa, Kansas; son, Robert Greenfield and wife Kathy of Ottawa; three grandchildren, Brant Greenfield and wife Dodie of Overbrook, Kevin Greenfield and wife Amy of Scranton, and Donna Musick of Wakarusa; seven great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and sister, Edna Shultz and husband William of Herrington, Kansas. She is preceded in death by her parents; one sister and five brothers. The family suggests memorial contributions to Overbrook United Methodist Church or Grace Hospice c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S. Hickory, Ottawa, Kansas 66067.
