Larry Wade Dunaway Sr. age 70 of Osawatomie formally of Paola passed away July 4th at his home after a battle with cancer. Services will be Saturday July 12 at 10:30 AM at the Penwell-Gabel Paola Chapel visitation Friday 6 to 8:00PM, burial Hillsdale Cemetery. Larry was born on August 30, 1937 to Wade and Nellie Attebery Dunaway in Paola Kansas. He graduated from Paola High School in 1957 and later enlisted in the United States Navy. After serving his country he was employed with the Taylor Forge Company and later joined the Boiler Maker union #83 of Kansas City, where he worked all over the country at different construction jobs as a welder. He retired at the age of 62, moving to Osawatomie 18 months ago. Larry enjoyed working in his personal work shop on cars, and using his craftsman hands, which gave him a lot of joy. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors are his children, daughter, Melissa Henning, daughter, Belinda Farmer both of Gardner, son Larry Dunaway Jr. of Paola, and one brother Bob Dunaway of Paola, 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by family and friends.
