Larry Dean Bishop was born on Tuesday, August 28, 1945, in Ottawa, Franklin County, Kansas. He was the son of Allen and Beulah Mae (Coombes) Bishop. A lifelong Franklin County resident, Larry moved from Ottawa to Princeton in 1984, where he made his home until his death on Friday, September 28, 2007, at the age of sixty-two years. Larry graduated from Ottawa High School. He also graduated from Kansas City Vocational School. He was a laborer for Ottawa Truck for the past seven years. He had previously worked at Stokley-Van-Camp in Lawrence for nineteen years. He was a former member of the Princeton Volunteer Fire Department and, as a youth, participated in the Ottawa Boys Club. Larry was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. His family was his number one priority, and he absolutely lived for his grandkids. He enjoyed the outdoors and loved camping, fishing, and, above all, vacationing with his family. On November 12, 1966, Larry was united in marriage with Edna Mae Sutton in Garnett, Kansas. She survives of their home. He is also survived by his daughter, Angie Bishop of Ottawa; son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Tammy Bishop of Ottawa; two sisters, Mary Demeny of Abrams, Wisconsin, and his twin, Lois Jean Bishop-Randel of Kansas City, Kansas; four brothers, Roy Bishop of Ottawa, James Bishop of Homewood, Charles Bishop of Pomona, Robert Bishop of Ottawa; five grandchildren, Jon Foster, of the home, Donnie Foster, Jr. of Ottawa, Felicia Bishop of Ottawa, Randy Bishop, Jr. of Ottawa, Kylee Bishop of Ottawa; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Bishop was preceded in death by his parents; grandfather, Perry Franks; and son, Rick Bishop. SERVICES: Funeral services will be held from the Dengel & Son Mortuary, 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 3, 2007. IN STATE: Mr. Bishop will lie in state at the Dengel & Son Mortuary after 5 p.m. Monday to the service hour where the family will meet with friends from 7 to 8 Tuesday evening. CEMETERY: Princeton Cemetery. MEMORIALS: The family suggests memorials to Franklin County Cancer Foundation or American Heart Association, c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S.
