Rev. Larry Dale Williams was born December 5, 1950, at Morgantown, West Virginia. He was the son of Rev. Gerald Vacle and Virginia Ellen (George) Williams. For many years, Larry lived in Elkins, West Virginia, and twelve years in Cleveland, Ohio. In 1984, he moved to Pomona, in Franklin County, Kansas, where he made his home until his death Monday, November 4, 2002, at the age of fifty-one years. Larry obtained his General Education Degree. He was presently employed as a Quality Control Technician at Dot Label, Inc., in Gardner, where he had worked fifteen years. He was previously a press operator for 3M in Cleveland from 1969 to 1975; construction worker for Wolf Creek Power Plant from 1984 to 1985; and, security guard for Sprint in Gardner from 1985 to 1987. He was ordained a minister in the Apostolic Church in 1972. A very giving and caring person, Rev. Williams spent his time helping his family and others. He greatly enjoyed his daughters and granddaughter. He also enjoyed gospel music and gospel programs on T.V., especially, the Gaither's. On October 5, 1974, Larry was united in marriage with Kathy Summerfield at Cleveland, Ohio. She survives of their home. Also, surviving are two daughters, Crystal G. Williams of Pomona, Kimberly D. Williams of the home; three sisters, Linda E. Mitchell and her husband, Allen, of Buckeye, Arizona, Brenda White and her husband, Roger of Elkins, West Virginia, Sandra Honeycutt of Windham, Ohio; two brothers, Gerald C. Williams and his wife, Rita, of Pomona, Paul L. Williams and his wife, Cathy, of Edgerton; one granddaughter, Makayla D. Williams of Pomona; and, several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents. SERVICES: Funeral services will be held from the Dengel & Son Mortuary 10:30 a.m. Friday, November 8, 2002. OFFICIATING CLERGY: Pastor R. Todd Nance, Cornerstone United Pentecostal Church. IN STATE: Rev. Williams will lie in state at the Dengel & Son Mortuary after 5:00 p.m. Wednesday to the service hour, where the family will meet with friends 7 to 8:00 Thursday evening. CEMETERY: Woodlawn Cemetery, Pomona, Kansas. MEMORIALS: The family suggests memorials to Williams' Children's Education Fund, c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S. Hickory, Ottawa, KS 66067.
