Larry Dean Stewart was born on Sunday, December 15, 1935, in Ottawa, Kansas. He was the son of Harold M. and Doris P. (Crockett) Stewart. A lifelong resident, Larry made his home in Ottawa, Franklin County, Kansas, until his death on Saturday, March 8, 2008, at the age of seventy-two years. He graduated from Ottawa High School and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Larry married Betty M. Hadsall May 18, 1956, and to this union two sons were born. They divorced in 1974. He married Judith Ann Woods October 14, 1983. She died January 10, 1992. Larry retired October 24, 2002, from Ottawa Truck after 37 years of service. His hobbies included bowling, fishing and hunting. Survivors include two sons, Michael L. Stewart and wife, Jean, of Manhattan, Steven A. Stewart of Ottawa; four grandchildren, Scott, Katie, Kirk, and Laurel Stewart of Manhattan; two half sisters, Mona France and Patti Curmode, Wichita; aunt, Norma Stewart Korbe, Ottawa; two cousins, Judy Scott, Gardner, and Donna Wiliker, Fresno, California; stepmother, Dorothy Henderson, Garnett, three nieces, and one nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold Stewart and Doris Patterson; grandparents, Albert and Bertha Stewart, John and Edith Crockett, and an uncle, Glen Stewart. SERVICES: Funeral services will be held from the Dengel & Son Mortuary 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, 2008. IN STATE: Mr. Stewart will lie in state at the Dengel & Son Mortuary to the service hour where the family will meet with friends 7:00 to 8:00 Tuesday evening. CEMETERY: Highland Cemetery, Ottawa.
