Larry D. Pettit

Larry D. Pettit, age 71, of Stilwell, KS. died October 23, 2008 at his home. Larry was born June 16, 1937 at Lansing, Michigan the son of Larry D. and Leopal Mae Winters Pettit. He was united in marriage for 47 years to Lila Crusha on April 13, 1961 at Nevada, Mo. Larry served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion Post #370, Stanley Lions Club and a volunteer for the Aubry Fire Department for 17 years. Survivors include his wife, Lila Pettit, of the home; 1 daughter, Leann Pettit; 2 sons, Robert & Rick Pettit; 13 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and 3 sisters, Mary Buffamoyer, Alta Wagner and Norma Meyers. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with the visitation being from 9:00 -11:00 a.m. prior to the service at Penwell - Gabel Louisburg Chapel. Burial will be in the Aubry Cemetery with military honors. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to the Larry Pettit family.
