Larry Claude Walker, 80, of Paola, passed away on March 18, 2024 at Olathe Health Hospice House.
He was born on June 17, 1943 to Claude and Frances (Simpson) Walker in Cawker City, KS.
Larry worked for the Union Pacific Railroad for over thirty years, as a conductor. Later he drove for Apple Bus for many years. He enjoyed spending his time wood working, fishing with his grandsons. Larry especially enjoyed just getting to spend time with his family, including going to his grandchildrens sporting events.
On October 8, 1965, he married Shirley Walker (Miller). Larry and Shirley lived in Paola, Kansas.
Larry served in the United States Navy from 1960 to 1965 as a radio man and received his honorable discharge after 5 years.
He was a member of First Lutheran Church of Paola.
Larry is survived by his loving Wife, Shirley, Daughter, Nickki (Tyler) Lofing, Son, Michael (Wanting) Walker, Sisters, Terry Roark, Sherry Walker, and Mary Walker. As well as four grandsons, Brian (Cassie) Lofing, Seth (Brittany) Lofing, Jace Lofing, Leon Walker and three great-grandchildren, Cooper, Rhett, Kopelynn.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Gary Walker.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cerebral Palsy Foundation and/or First Lutheran Church of Paola c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary-Paola Chapel.
