Kristi Leann Bennett

Kristi LeAnn Bennett, age 28, of Lenexa, Kansas, passed away Friday, April 19, 2019 at her home. Kristi was born May 17, 1990 at LaCrosse, Kansas. She was the youngest of three daughters born to Jerry Bennett and Christina (Lyon) Wharton. They made their home in LaCrosse and moved to Paola in 1991. Kristi graduated from Central Heights High School with the Class of 2008. She then attended Pinnacle Career Institute at Lawrence. She also attended Neosho County Community College. Kristi made her career as a massage therapist. She was an avid reader, loved being outdoors, known to be a dare devil loving to sky dive and rock climb, hiking, enjoyed traveling to many places including Puerto Rico, Cancun, Hawaii, and Costa Rica. When she was out mushroom hunting, she was the one who always found the most. She had a great sense of humor with a contagious laugh. She loved helping others. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents John and Joan Lyon and her uncle Eric Bennett. She is survived by her father Jerry (Lisa) Bennett of Baldwin City, KS; her mother Christina (David) Wharton of Richmond, KS; paternal grandparents Doug and Ruth Wolfe of Wichita; two sisters Jennifer (Kevin) Cook of Paola and Stephanie Bennett of Lenexa; her brother Jesse Wharton; two step-brothers Chase and Cas LeMaster; five nieces and nephews Abby, Colin, Carson, and Allie Cook and Landon Wilkes; many other relatives and friends.
