Kirk Wilson

Kirk E. Wilson age 48 of Paola passed away at his home April 7, 2008 after battling a long illness. Visitation Friday April 11 from 6 PM to 7:30 PM at the Penwell-Gabel Paola Chapel 305 N. Pearl Paola Kansas . In lou of flowers the family asks that contributions be made to the USD#368 Endowment in care of the Funeral Home.(to leave condolences to the family go to Penwell-Gabel.com) Kirk was born November 1, 1959 in Paola, Kansas to Shelby Jack and Deanna Sue Walters Wilson. Kirk graduated from Paola High School in 1977 and enlisted in the U.S. Army Airborne Ranger Division until September 1978. He attended Kansas University for 3 " years and was employed at the Shawnee Mission Post Office for the past 16 years until his failing health caused him to take a Leave Of Absence. In the late 80"s Kirk won the Mr. Kansas body building contest, in the late 90"s he placed second in the Mr. Universe drug free contest in LosAngeles, CA. During the past 20 years Kirk entered and won numerous body building awards throughout the United States. Also, Kirk was active in Karate earning a black belt and competed in Kick Boxing Contests. Survivors are his parents, Jack and Sue Wilson of North Port , Florida , sister, Wendy Vasquez of Paola, brother, Scott Wilson of Orlando , Florida , grandfather J.B. Walters of Rockville , Indiana, three nephews and his Fianc"e, Mary Hall of SpringHill, Kansas. Kirk and his friendly smile will be greatly missed by family and friends.
