Kenneth Swickard

Kenneth Ray Swickard, 75, of Stilwell, KS, passed away Thursday, August 18, 2016. Ken was born on May 25, 1941, in Sheldon, MO, raised in Stilwell, KS and graduated from Stilwell High School and Cleveland Chiropractic College. He married Sara Sue Eder in 1960. He was a well-respected chiropractor in the Kansas City area for over 45 years. He taught for many years at Cleveland Chiropractic College and mentored countless chiropractors. He was voted Doctor of the Year twice by his peers. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, hunting, snow skiing and golfing. He took his family snow skiing every spring break and made hundreds of wonderful memories. Ken was involved in many community activities such as scouting and baseball. He coached numerous baseball teams and was influential in the Blue Valley Rec baseball program, always championing kids first. He and his wife volunteered many hours as booster club officers at Blue Valley High School and were Tiger fans to the core. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sara Sue, his six children and their spouses, Mark (Michele), Bruce (Denise), Diana (Greg) Tate, David (Julia), Janice (John) Hanahan, Michael (Alissa), and 15 grandchildren.
