Kenneth R. Redifer

Kenneth Ray Redifer was born on Tuesday, November 13, 1934, in Moberly, Missouri. He was the only son of Kenneth and Susie (Lorton) Redifer. Kenneth lived in Moberly, Ottawa and Rantoul, Kansas, returning to Ottawa in 1988, where he made his home until his death on Wednesday, April 29, 2009, at the age of seventy-four years. In 1959, Kenneth began work for Montgomery Ward in Ottawa in the appliance repair department. In 1981, he opened The Appliance Repair Center in Ottawa. Kenneth was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He loved spending time with his family. An outgoing person, he enjoyed visiting with his many friends. Kenneth will be remembered as a warm, loving man with a big heart, who would go out of his way to help people. On July 5, 1952, Kenneth was united in marriage with Marilyn Charlene Thompson in Moberly, Missouri. They shared 56 years of marriage. She survives of their home. He is also survived by three sons, Cecil Redifer and his wife, Debbie, of Osawatomie, Kansas, Dale Redifer and his wife, Cathy, of Lincoln, Alabama, Calvin Redifer and his wife, Dolores, of Richmond, Kansas; nine grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Mary Jo Wadkins. SERVICES: Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 2, 2009, at Sugar Creek Cemetery in Moberly, Missouri. IN STATE: Friends may pay their respects to Mr. Redifer after 1:00 p.m. Friday at Dengel & Son Mortuary in Ottawa, where the family will meet with friends from 7:00 to 8:00 Friday evening .
