Kenneth L. “Kenny” Ledom, 64, of Ottawa, Kansas passed away Wednesday, June 25, 2014, at Ransom Memorial Hospital. Family will meet with friends from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, June 27, 2014, at Dengel & Son Mortuary for a visitation. Graveside services and interment will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, June 28, 2014, at Princeton Cemetery, Princeton, Kansas. Military honors by Fort Riley Honor Guard. Directly following the graveside service there will be a celebration of life gathering at Aerie Lodge #2700, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Ottawa. Kenny was born Wednesday, January 25, 1950 in Kansas City, Kansas, the son of Barney L. and Gladys F. (Carrell) Ledom. He was a lifelong resident of Ottawa, attending Ottawa and Williamsburg schools. Kenny served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, in the 4th Infantry, from 1969 to 1971. He worked for Kalmar Industries, formerly Ottawa Truck, for thirty plus years retiring in 2009. He held several positions; most recent was being in charge of parts and services. He was a member of the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 912 of Ottawa; life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Post 5901; and Ottawa Lodge 803, Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks; and past president and former trustee of Aerie Lodge 2700, Fraternal Order of Eagles, also of Ottawa. Kenny was united in marriage with Sue Cox in 1974. They later divorced. He was married to Karrel Wood for eighteen years. She preceded him in death on September 16, 1999. Also preceding Kenny in death are his parents; and brother, Terry Ledom. Survivors include his daughter, Angela Clancy and husband Billy of Rantoul; three step-daughters, Casey Burgoon and husband Rich of Ottawa, Laurie Stocker of Lawrence, and Camille Milam of Pea Ridge, Arkansas; nine grandchildren, Jasmine and Jacey Clancy, Amanda, James, Caitlin and Matthew Burgoon, David Moore, Megan and Tri Milam; three great grandchildren; sister, Betty Payne and husband Eddie of Ottawa; and many nieces and nephews.
