Kenneth J. Mille, age 87, of Ottawa, passed away Friday, August 17, 2018 at Ransom Memorial Hospital. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, August 22, 2018, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Ottawa. A rosary will be said at 6:30 P.M., Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at Dengel & Son Mortuary followed by a family and friends visitation from 7:00 P.M. to 8:00P.M. Interment Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Ottawa, with military honors by Fort Riley Honor Guard. Kenneth was born on Thursday, June 18, 1931, in Dallas, South Dakota, the son of Gene Paul and Frances (Klienschmidt) Mille. He lived most of his life in Franklin County, Kansas, moving to Ottawa in the late 1930’s. He attended Ottawa schools. Kenneth served in the Kansas Army National Guard from 1948 to 1957, attaining the rank of E6. Kenneth was united in marriage to Carol Agnes Sellers September 7, 1953, in Ottawa. She preceded him in death on March 11, 2012. He was also preceded in death by parents, Gene and Frances Mille; brothers, Eugene Paul Mille, Frank Mille and David Mille; sister, Beverly Sellers; and step grandson, Codie Prochaska. Survivors include his five children, Mark Mille and wife Judy of Ottawa, Paula Smith and husband David of Burlington, Brenda Prochaska and husband Bill of Copan, Oklahoma, Patricia Sexton and husband Lonnie of Ottawa, and Kenneth Mille and wife Darlene of Pomona; siblings, Richard Mille of Versailles, Missouri, and Mary Fowler of Ottawa; twelve grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. He worked twelve years at Kenny Andrews service station and for Bud Bell’s Mobil Station for a short time; drove twelve years for Marvin Gentner of Ottawa Grain & Seed, and twelve years as a truck driver for Bingo Dog Food in Ottawa. Kenneth also delivered parts for O’Reilly Auto Parts and Advanced Auto Parts. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Aerie Lodge 2700, Fraternal Order of Eagles, both of Ottawa.
