Kenneth Clifford Jones was born on Monday, August 13, 1934, in Lawrence, Kansas. He was the son of Kenneth Clifford Adrian Jones and Martha Eleanor (Goode) Jones. A lifelong resident, Kenneth made his home in Ottawa, Franklin County, Kansas, until his death on Tuesday, May 1, 2007, at the age of seventy-two years. Kenneth graduated from Ottawa High School with the class of 1952. He served in the United States Army, serving in Germany in the mid 1950's. He was currently employed by Pearson NCS, a computer outsourcing service, where he worked as a customer service representative the past three years. He previously worked for Ottawa University as night security. In the 1960's, he was an inspector for Bendix Aviation in Kansas City, Missouri and, in the 1970's, 1980's and 1990's, was an inspector for Smith & Loveless in Lenexa, Kansas. He was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Ottawa; Ottawa Bowling Association; Ottawa Horseshoe Thrower's Association; and Ottawa Promenaders Square Dance Club. Kenneth was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He greatly enjoyed their family gatherings and playing with the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He liked to cook out and was an avid fan of the Chiefs and Royals. On September 8, 1957, Kenneth was united in marriage with Lexie Mae Johnson in Ottawa. She survives of their home. He is also survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Duane and Diane Jones of Eugene, Oregon; three daughters and sons-in-law, Colleen and Brad Fleming of Ottawa, Kansas, Ellie and James Short of Moriarty, New Mexico, Kelly and Jody Bulmer of Ottawa, Kansas; two sisters, Geri George of Independence, Kansas, Billie Strange of Long Beach, California; thirteen grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Dudley Jones; and sister, Patty Jones. SERVICES: Memorial services will be held from the Dengel & Son Mortuary at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 4, 2007. IN STATE: Family will meet with friends 7 to 8:00 Thursday evening at the Mortuary.
