Kelly M. Shambaugh

Kelly M. Shambaugh, age 53 of Ottawa, Kansas, died Monday, March 17, 2014 at her home. Graveside services will be held at Highland Cemetery 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 22, 2014. Mrs. Shambaugh will lie in state at the Dengel Son Mortuary from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Friday, where the family will meet with friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Kelly was born on Sunday, August 21, 1960 in Ulysses, Kansas, the daughter of Marion and Elaine (Wimer) Wilson. She has been a resident of Ottawa since 1985, moving from Spain where she resided for three years. She previously lived in Altus, Oklahoma. Kelly graduated from Ulysses, Kansas High School with the class of 1978. She worked for Franklin County, Kansas from 1986-1994 as a dispatcher. She previously worked as a security guard for Wolf Creek Nuclear Power Plant in the mid 1980s. Kelly enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. Her hobbies included gardening, woodworking, crocheting, crafts, and firearms. Two of Kellys favorite things to do were traveling and attending shows at the New Theatre Restaurant in Overland Park, Kansas. On December 19, 1987, Kelly was united in marriage with Roger D. Shambaugh at Ottawa, Kansas. He preceded her in death on January 16, 2011. Survivors include her mother, Elaine Wilson of Amarillo, TX; daughter, Briana Hutchison and her husband, Peter of Ottawa; son, Brice Shambaugh and his wife, Holly of Gardner; son, Marion Shambaugh of Glendale, AZ; daughter, Kelsie Barnes and her husband, Warren of Ottawa; sister, Shauna Wilson of Amarillo, TX; six grandchildren, Katarina Shambaugh, Ashlynn Shambaugh, Aubree Shambaugh, Santino Hutchison, Aleah Shambaugh, and Quinton Barnes. Besides her husband Roger, Kelly is preceded in death by a grandson, Harmon Hutchison and her father Marion.
