Keith Owen Rockhold, 85, of Centropolis, Kansas, entered his heavenly mansion Monday, February 22, 2021, from Vintage Park at Baldwin City. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 26, 2021, at Union Cemetery, Centropolis. Family will meet with friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, February 25, 2021, at Dengel & Son Mortuary, Ottawa. Keith was born on December 24, 1935, at Baldwin City, Kansas, the son of Ernest Arthur and Frances (Tucker) Rockhold. He was a lifelong Centropolis area resident. He graduated from Baldwin High School with the class of 1953. Keith was united in marriage to Patricia Joan Myers July 22, 1956, at Centropolis. She preceded him in death on August 4, 2005. He married Eva (Newland) Coates December 18, 2005, at Worden, Kansas. She survives of the home. Keith was a lifelong, hardworking dairyman/farmer. He also drove a tractor trailer mostly hauling grain for local farmers from the late 1980’s until his retirement in 2018. He was a member of the Worden United Methodist Church, Worden, Kansas, and served 25 years on the church board and as church treasurer. He also attended Centropolis Christian Church. Keith loved working with his cattle and when dairy farming received several dairy awards. He liked running his tractor and working in his side by side, and always enjoyed having something to do. He loved seeing his grandchildren and always looked forward to the time spent with family. Keith was also preceded in death by two sons, Dale and Kenneth Rockhold, his parents and brother, Clare “Rocky” Rockhold. Survivors also include four children, Joan Kay Williams (Larry) of Ottawa, Glenn Rockhold (Tammy) of Pomona, Teri Lynn Kaub of Blue Springs, Missouri, and Cecil Rockhold (Cheryl) of Ottawa; five stepchildren, David Coates (Gloria) Blue Mound, Kansas, Brenda L. Roberts (Kenny) of Ottawa, Don Coates (Diane) also of Ottawa, Barb Goff (George) Baldwin City, and Dan Coates also of Baldwin City; sister, Ann Suddarth (Richard) of Wellsville; ten grandchildren, Michael Williams of Ottawa, Christopher Williams also of Ottawa, Charlie Rockhold of Pomona, Jill Nitcher (Andrew) also of Pomona, Kandace Nellessen (Tim) of Frontenac, Brian Kaub of Blue Springs, Missouri, Jessica Rockhold of Ottawa, Cassandra Harman (Bryant) of Centropolis, Laiken Rockhold of Baldwin City, and Hunter Melby (Cole) of Reno, Nevada; eight great-grandchildren; fourteen step-grandchildren and eight step-great-grandchildren.
