Kaylee Marie Simpson, age 66, of Ottawa, Kansas, died Wednesday, June 8, 2011, at Olathe Medical Center in Olathe, Kansas. She was born on Monday, July 17, 1944, in Tacoma, Washington, the daughter of Michael Earl Levi and Corrine Gertrude (Bench) Whinery. Kaylee grew up in Kansas City, Kansas. She lived and traveled extensively throughout the United States and Germany, prior to arriving in Ottawa in May of 1992. In the fall of 1993, she moved to Prescott, Arizona, returning to Ottawa in 2008. Kaylee attended Argentine High School in Kansas City, Missouri. She was a homemaker. In her younger years, she did clerical work and provided home care. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Ottawa and a long time member of First Baptist Church in Prescott, Arizona. Kaylee had a very strong faith. She loved the Lord, her family, and friends with all her heart. She collected stuffed animals and enjoyed walking, music, art, playing miniature golf, volleyball, and being outside. She previously volunteered at the Senior Center in Ottawa. On Saturday, May 28, 1994, Kaylee was united in marriage with William Vance “Bill” Simpson in Prescott, Arizona. He survives. She is survived by her: Husband-William Vance “Bill” Simpson of Ottawa; Son-David LeRoy Frey and his wife, Ruth, of Kansas City, Missouri; Son-Danny L. Frey of Lower Lake, California; Grandson-Jacob Frey of Kansas City, Missouri; Granddaughter-Mary Frey of Kansas City, Missouri; Granddaughter-Sarah Frey of Kansas City, Missouri; Granddaughter-Rachel Frey of Kansas City, Missouri and Granddaughter-Leah Frey of Kansas City, Missouri. She is preceded in death by her parents. SERVICES: Cremation is planned. Memorial funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church in Ottawa at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June11, 2011. Family will meet with friends from 9:00 to 10:00 at the church prior to services.
