Kathleen “Kay” Tersiner, age 77, of Ottawa, Kansas, died Wednesday, November 10, 2010, at Ransom Memorial Hospital in Ottawa, Kansas. She was born on Tuesday, January 3, 1933, in Pittsburg, Kansas, the daughter of James and Tamar (Hetherington) Manion. She was a resident of Ottawa since 1954, moving from Pittsburg, Kansas. Kay graduated from Frontenac High School with the class of 1950. She was a homemaker. In the late 1960’s and early 1970’s, she worked as a sales clerk for Litwin’s Department Store of Ottawa. In the 1970’s and early 1980’s, she did clerical work in the Franklin County Treasurer’s Department and Juvenile Department, retiring in 1981. She attended First United Methodist Church of Ottawa and was active in Parent Teacher Association when her children attended school. On June 8, 1950, Kay was united in marriage with August Tersiner in Pittsburg, Kansas. He resides at their home in Ottawa. She is survived by her: Husband-August E. Tersiner of their home; Daughter-Jean Mace of Ottawa, Kansas; Daughter-Annette Burnett and her husband, Dannie, of Ottawa, Kansas; Brother-Edward Manion and his wife, Bernice, of St. Joseph, Missouri; Grandson-Gabe Mace and his wife, Meghan, of Ottawa, Kansas; Granddaughter-Fawn Plummer and her husband, Mario, of Chinook, Montana; Granddaughter-Abbi Cobbs and her husband, Ryan, of Ottawa, Kansas; Granddaughter, Megan Melby and her husband, Brent, of Scandia, Kansas; Six- Gt.Grandchildren and several Nieces and Nephews. She is preceded in death by: Parents-James and Tamar Manion; Son-James Joseph Tersiner, December 7, 2004; Sister-Mary McFarland; Brother-James Manion; Brother-John Manion; Sister-Agnes Frobish and Sister-Barbara Duesi. SERVICES: Funeral services will be held from the Dengel & Son Mortuary in Ottawa at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 13, 2010. IN STATE: Mrs. Tersiner will lie in state at the Dengel & Son Mortuary from noon Friday to the service hour, where the family will meet with friends from 6:00 to 7:30 Friday evening.
