Kathleen Janell Zamora

Kathleen Janell Zamora, 69, of Ottawa, Kansas passed away Thursday, August 17, 2023, at Olathe Medical Center, Olathe, Kansas.

Memorial Service will be held 5:30 P.M., Friday, September 22, 2023, at Dengel & Son Mortuary, Ottawa. Family will greet friends following the service.

Inurnment Osawatomie Cemetery, Osawatomie, Kansas.

Kathleen was born Wednesday, May 20, 1954, in Paola, Kansas. She was the daughter of Lawrence Robert and LaVerne Nellie (Huston) Oram.

She was a lifelong Franklin County resident living in Ottawa for over forty years.

Kathleen graduated from Central Heights High School with the class of 1972.

She was united in marriage on December 11, 1973 to Ernesto “Ernie” Zamora. He preceded her in death in June 2010.

Kathleen was employed with ECKAN in Ottawa, Kansas as a family service representative for over thirty years.

She was a member of the Sacred Hearth Catholic Church in Ottawa. Kathleen enjoyed farming, playing both volleyball and softball, cooking, and had a heart for children. She was dearly loved by her family.

Kathleen was preceded in death by husband Ernie; parents Lawrence and LaVerne; son Lorenzo Zamora, brother Daniel Oram; and sister Sandra Colleen.

Survivors include son Jason Zamora of Ottawa, Kansas; daughter Elizabeth D. Gordon (Eric) of Princeton, Kansas; brothers Mike Oram of Oklahoma and Sam Oram (Anette) of Lane, Kansas; sister Sharon Henke (Phil) of Colorado; nine grandchildren Charles Whitacre, Ashley Whitacre, Kenny Whitacre, David Zamora, Xavier Zamora, Esias Zamora, Lyla Zamora, Jason Hinman, and Faith Zamora; along with five great grandchildren.
