Kathern Louise (Berger) Hall, 89, of Santa Maria, California passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 14, 2013. Kathern will return to Princeton, Kansas, her childhood hometown, for final rest. Graveside services will be held at Princeton Cemetery, Saturday, April 19, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. Kathern Kay was born on Monday, April 21, 1924 in Osborn, Kansas, the daughter of Vernon and Hilda (Quigley) Berger. She grew up a farm girl, graduating from Princeton High School. Out of high school, Kay worked to support the war effort and later went to work for TWA Airlines. It was there she met and married Bernard Jack Hall on June 13, 1947, her husband of 53 years. Jack and Kay started their family and embarked on a migration that brought them to California where they ran businesses and worked in aviation and aerospace in North Hollywood, Santa Susana, Ventura and Oxnard. Kay worked for Raytheon for 19 years and 3M Company for 8 years. Kathern was also a great homemaker, a loving and attentive mother and grandmother. In 1979, both Kay and Jack retired to do what they loved, traveling extensively throughout the United States visiting family and friends. In 1981, they relocated and built a home in Santa Maria to enjoy life with children, grandchildren and new friends. Kay is survived by her children, Muriel Hall, Janice Cofield, and Gregory Hall; grandchildren, Shawn, Brian, and Brandon Matt; Darin Cofield, Diedra Stough, and Jason and Justin Hall; great grandchildren, Macy and Parker Cofield, Brianna and Logan Stough, Elysa, Kaiya and Ethan Hall; brother, David Berger; and sister, Julia Reynolds. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers, Delbert, Donn, Junior, and Richard Berger; sisters, Jeanette Conser, and Gloria Vallier.
