June W. Foulks, 91, of Ottawa, Kansas, passed away Saturday, August 9, 2014 at Vintage Park of Ottawa. Family and friends will meet at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, August 13, 2014, at Highland Cemetery for graveside and celebration of life services. June was born Saturday, June 23, 1923 in Johnson County, Kansas, the daughter of Robert John and Gladys Elva (Tharp) White. She was a lifelong resident of Ottawa, until moving to Port Isabel, Texas in 2000. She returned to Ottawa in September 2013 to be with her children. June graduated from Ottawa High School with the class of 1941 and attended Ottawa University. She was a devoted homemaker. June was a charter member in 1947 of Entre’nous, serving as president in 1990; member of the Kansas Women’s Golf Association, Ottawa Country Club, and Alvamar Country Club where she held many positions and offices. She was a member of the Ransom Memorial Hospital Auxiliary from 1961 until 1995, and received a 30 year pin in April 1991 and has a 2,000 hour pin. She served from 1995 to 1996 on the Board of Deacons on the First Baptist Church Council, served as president of the Baptist Women’s Church Group. On December 9, 1945 June was united in marriage with Wilbur B. Foulks at Ottawa, Kansas. He preceded her in death on August 12, 1981. She is also preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her daughter, Deborah Lines of Ottawa; brother, Robert K. White and wife Willa Lee also of Ottawa; granddaughter, Kimberly Evans and husband Zachary of Ottawa; great granddaughter, Hallie L. Evans; nephews, Wayne White of Ottawa, and Steve White of Carthage, Missouri; and brother-in-law, James R. Foulks and wife Sally of Londonberry, New Hampshire.
