June F. Sandridge, age 91, of Paola, Kansas, died January 18, 2013 at North Point Skilled Nursing in Paola. June was born September 19, 1921 at Baldwin City, Kansas. She was the daughter of Philo Karl and Mary Etta (Beckerdite) Beck. She grew up in Baldwin City and graduated from Baldwin City High School. She was united in marriage to Franklin Eugene Sandridge on July 17, 1949 in Baldwin City, Kansas. They were the parents of four children. They made their home in Lenexa, Kansas for one year and then moved to Harrisonville, Missouri where they resided until 1955. At that time they moved to Paola and lived on their rural farm. Their farm became quite the menagerie with Frank bringing home livestock that did not sell at the livestock auctions he frequented. They had peacocks, pigs, dogs, cats, bunnies, geese, ducks, rams, goats, and many other forgettable animals. June was a homemaker with many hobbies. She enjoyed quilting, reading, ceramics, studying the Bible and even gave Bible studies. She was an excellent baker and her specialty was cinnamon candy. She enjoyed genealogy and helping at the local museum. June was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Ottawa where she was very active. She played the piano for many years. She was the church clerk. She was very involved with the church"s Dorcas Society and Disaster Relief. She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter Nancy Sandridge who died in 2004, and one sister Elaine Potts. She is survived by her husband Frank; two sons Larry (Karen) Sandridge of Gladstone, MO and Neil (Sharon) Sandridge of Holt, MO; one daughter Mary Jean Schuman of Paola; 9 grandchildren Scott Sandridge, Kari Nienstedt, Aryk Sandridge, Marlo Sandridge, Barbara Dryden, Brenda Eitel, Belinda McClelland, Brenna McGhee, and Angie Hale; 24 great grandchildren Kacy, Cole, Rachel, Michael, Erika, Issaac, Matthew, Emily, Ashley, Caleb, Hannah, Ryan, Chase, Icis, Trentan, Leela, Kyle, Lynnita, Colin, Danny, Christopher, Nicole, Alec, and Ethan; other relatives and friends. Memorial contributions can be made to Odyssey Hospice.
