June K. Simons

June Kathryn Simons, age 92, of Olathe, formerly of Paola, passed away on January 28, 2023 at the Olathe Medical Center.

Visitation will be February 10, 2023, Friday, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. followed by services at 11:00 a.m. at the Dengel and Son Mortuary, Paola Chapel, and burial in the Paola Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Children's Mercy Hospital or Catholic Charities of Olathe and can be sent in care of Dengel and Son Mortuary, 305 N. Pearl, Paola, KS 66071.

She was born on October 29, 1930 in Butler Missouri to Herman L. and Ella Harper Sweets.

On February 6, 1949 she was united in marriage to Benjamin Simons in Paola, Kansas.

June worked for the Smith Garment Factory in Paola for many years before moving to Olathe in the early 80's. She worked for the Johnson County Sheriff Department, Catholic Charities of Olathe, and many odd jobs around town. June had a spit fire personality and the family was touched literally by her especially the grandkids. She was always willing to help with family but also demanded respect from them.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, three sisters, and two brothers.

Surviving are her children Glenda Simons, Bennetta Potts and Larry Sanchez; 26 grandchildren; and many great-great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.
