June J. Larkin

June J. Larkin, 79, of Pomona, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, November 29, 2022, at Rock Creek of Ottawa.

A private family service will be held later.

June was born December 20, 1942, in Thief River Falls, Minnesota, the daughter of William and Ann (Siedschlag) Zinter.

She lived in Long Beach, California for 2 years; Albuquerque, New Mexico for 60 years before moving to Pomona, Kansas.

On March 9, 1963, June was united in marriage to Joseph C. Larkin, Sr., in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He preceded her in death on February 15, 2022, after 59 years of marriage.

June was employed as a bookkeeper for 60 years, retiring in 2020.

She had many hobbies and activities including gardening, plants and flowers, crocheting, puzzles, taking vacations with grandchildren, playing games on the computer, involved with husband and son’s car racing, camping, fishing, native American art and music, owls, and hummingbirds.

She was also preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include two children, Doralee Whittington of Pomona, and Joseph (Sonny) Larkin, Jr. of Ottawa; brother John Zinter; four grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
