Juliann Sauer, age 95, of Olathe, Kansas, passed away, Sunday, October 24, 2021, at Villa St. Francis, Olathe, Kansas. A vigil for the deceased will be held 6:00 to 7:30 P.M., Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at Dengel & Son Mortuary, Ottawa. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 A.M., Thursday, November 11, 2021, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Ottawa, and inurnment will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Ottawa. Juliann was born June 16, 1926, at Greeley, Kansas, the daughter of Leonard and Emma (Hildman) Lickteig and graduated from Greeley High School with the class of 1944. She was united in marriage to Jack F. Sauer May 8, 1946, in Ottawa. Juliann was a receptionist at Ottawa Family Physicians for 25 years, retiring in the early 1990’s She lived in Olathe, Kansas for the past 7 years, moving from Ottawa where she lived for 67 years. She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Olathe, and a former member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Altar Society in Ottawa, Kansas. Juliann liked to knit, crochet, sew and bake. She was known for making Christmas stockings for her children and grandchildren. Juliann especially looked forward to spending time and reminiscing with her family. She also enjoyed a Margarita or two while watching Hallmark movies. Juliann was preceded in death by her husband Jack on July 24, 2017, parents, two brothers, four sisters and grandson Karter D’Espies. Survivors include her five children, Jack Sauer (Eloise) of Olathe, Michael Sauer of Olathe, Nancy Abbott of Centennial, Colorado, Mary Ready (Dean) of Tonganoxie and Kimberly D’Espies of Pompano Beach, Florida; sister Rita Harrison of Choctaw, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Troy Sauer (Janeen) of Olathe, Kelli Slead (Dustin) of Lebo, Kristin Bittorf (Drew) of Apopka, Florida and Konnor D’Espies of Pompano Beach, Florida; eleven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
