Judy M. Hutchcraft, 76, of Rantoul, Kansas, died Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at Olathe Medical Center. She was born on Saturday, June 20, 1936 in Tower City, North Dakota, the daughter of Clarence and Myrtle (Henderson) Baasch, Sr. Judy grew up in North Dakota living in Tower City, Page & Oriska. She moved to Olathe, Kansas in 1959, and later lived in several western Kansas communities. After her marriage to Doug they lived in Osawatomie and Greeley, moving to Rantoul in 2009. She attended city and country schools in Oriska, North Dakota. On July 8, 1980 Judy was united in marriage with Douglas Hutchcraft in Paola, Kansas. He survives of the home. Survivors include: husband, Doug Hutchcraft of the home; daughter, Rene Bailey and husband Steven of Burlingame, son, Roy Funk and wife Nancy of Rantoul, son, Ron Funk and wife Kim of Paola, son, Brad McCune and wife Kim of Scranton, daughter, Rhonda Bennett and husband Bill of Rantoul, son, James McCune of Hutchinson, four stepsons, Paul Hutchcraft and wife Linda of Canyon City, Colorado, Douglas Edward “Ed” Hutchcraft of Pleasanton, Joel Hutchcraft and wife Jean of Ellinwood, and David Hutchcraft and wife Stacy of Canyon City, Colorado; brother, Clarence Baasch, Jr. and wife April of Ottawa; sister, Marlene Voigts and husband Bruce of Fontana; fifty-five grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. Judy is preceded in death by her grandson, Joshua Bowden; great-grandson, Jace Best; great-granddaughter, Aiden Best; parents, Myrtle and Clarence Baasch, Sr. Judy worked as a certified medical aide at nursing homes in Wellsville, Ottawa, Louisburg and Spring Hill, Kansas. SERVICES: Cremation is planned. Memorial Services will be held at Dengel & Son Mortuary, 10:00 A.M. Thursday, June 20, 2013. CEMETERY: Inurnment Richmond Cemetery, Richmond, Kansas at a later date. MEMORIALS: The family suggests memorial contributions to American Diabetes Association c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S. Hickory, Ottawa, Kansas 66067.
