Judith R. "Judy" Spear

Judy Spear, 75, of Pomona, Kansas, passed peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, at KU Medical Center on February 20, 2016. Memorial services will be held at 6:00 P.M., Thursday, February 25, 2016, at Dengel & Son Mortuary. She is preceded in death by Helen and Andrew Johnson, her Mother and Father figure, and her brother, Steve Fellman. She is survived by her loving husband, Don Spear, her sister, Donna Benton, five children: Ray Stafford, Daniel Stafford Sr., John Stafford Sr., Elizabeth Allen, and Christopher Spear; she also has 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Born in Leavenworth, Kansas, she never strayed far. She spent the majority of her career at JC Penny, from which she retired. She enjoyed the rest of her days with her husband of nearly 50 years, and their two dogs in their countryside home. Judy was truly one of a kind. She was a feisty, quick witted and fun spirit, who was absolutely filled to the brim with love. When she was around, good times were sure to be shared by all. She had a passion for many things: collecting Seraphim Angels, animals, and cooking, but her family always topped her list. She seized every opportunity to make sure you knew just how much you meant to her. Judy never forgot a birthday, or missed a family event. She was most content when her house was overflowing with her loved ones, for whatever the occasion. She lived an incredibly full and loved life. For this, we will not mourn, but celebrate her life and the love she gave. The family suggests memorial contributions to Judy Spear Memorial Fund c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S.
