Judith Ann Myers-Gallaway was born on Monday, November 14, 1938, in LaHarpe, Kansas. She was the daughter of Clarence L. Bill and Melvia Mae (Williams) Ransom. Following her marriage, she lived on a farm in the Centropolis area of Franklin County, Kansas, until moving to Ottawa in 1971, where she made her home until her death on Saturday, February 11, 2012, at the age of seventy-three years. Judy graduated from Ottawa High School with the class of 1956. She worked for USD 290 in food service at Ottawa High School from 1974 until 1979. She then worked for King Radio (Allied Signal) from 1979 until her retirement in 1999. Judy was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Ottawa; Aerie Lodge #2700, Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary of Ottawa; Goodyear Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post #2187 Auxiliary in Topeka; Topeka North American Legion Auxiliary Unit #400; and Country Quilters of Topeka. Judy was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, whose greatest joy was spending time with her family. She also enjoyed visiting with her friends and had a smile for everyone she met. She was an excellent seamstress and created many lovely quilts for her family to cherish through the years. On December 1, 1956, Judy was united in marriage with Lester Myers in Centropolis, Kansas. He preceded her in death on March 3, 1986. On February 17, 1999, Judy was united in marriage with Harvey Gallaway in Miami, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on September 2, 2011. She is also preceded in death by her parents. Judy is survived by two sons, Gary Lee Myers of Augusta, Kansas, Charles Alden Myers of Red Wing, Minnesota; two daughters, Kathy Ann Fleming of Mustang, Oklahoma, Linda Sue Gipson of Ottawa, Kansas; two sisters, Dorothy Wallace of Chanute, Kansas, Jane Davis of Belle Vista, Arkansas; eight grandsons, James Gipson, Jr., Bryan Gipson, Douglas Gipson, Kristopher Gipson, Daniel Myers, Benjamin Myers, Matthew Fleming, Ethan Myers; five granddaughters, Krystal Gipson, Elizabeth Myers, Kory Fleming, Kelly Dubala, Emma Myers; and seven great-grandchildren. SERVICES: Funeral services will be held from Dengel & Son Mortuary in Ottawa at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 15, 2012. IN STATE: Mrs. Gallaway will lie in state at the Dengel & Son Mortuary after 1:00 p.m. Tuesday to the service hour, where family will meet with friends from 7:00 to 8:00 Tuesday evening.
