Juanita Rose

Juanita Rose, 95, of Paola passed away July 19, 2013 at her home. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Stanley Kansas, 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 16, 2013. Juanita was born on July 19, 1918 in rural Olathe, Kansas to Harry Elmer and Mary E. Crookes Sterrett. She was raised in the Olathe area. On April 4, 1942 she was united in marriage to Clyde Rose in Olathe, Kansas. They lived in the Paola area since 1983. She was a postal clerk in Stanley for many years before her retirement; she was also a crossing guard for the Stanley School district. She was a member of the Thimble Club of Stanley Community Church. Her hobbies were gardening, growing flowers, quilting, and she especially enjoyed her cats. Juanita was preceded in death by her husband, brother Francis Norman Sterrett, infant sibling and her parents. She is survived by sons Glenn Allen Rose (Joy) of Vero Beach, Florida, Gary Elton Rose (Jeanne) of Ottawa, and Damon Eugene Rose (Brenda) of Paola, 6 grandchildren Christopher, Joette, Kevin, Greg, Jason, and Joshua and 10 great grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by family and friends. Memorials may be made to the Interim Hospice in care of Penwell-Gabel Paola Chapel.
