Juanita Louise Vohs, 83, of Louisburg, KS, died January 31, 2011 at Hoeger House in Olathe, KS. Funeral services will be held on Monday, Feb. 7, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Penwell Gabel Louisburg Chapel. Burial to follow in the Louisburg Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday, Feb. 6, from 2:00 - 4:00 PM at the chapel. She was born on February 10, 1927, at Ransom, KS, the daughter of E. Thurman and Naomi (Horchem) Chaney. She was united in marriage to Earl E. Vohs on October 12, 1946 in Paola, KS. Juanita graduated from Louisburg High School with the class of 1945 and was a member of the Louisburg American Legion and VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She served for many years on the Louisburg Ten Mile and Louisburg election boards and the Miami County Hospital Board. She enjoyed playing cards and spending time with friends and family. She was preceded in death by her parents and 1 brother, L.B. Chaney. Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Earl, of the home; 2 sons, Daryl Vohs and wife Jeani, Olathe, KS; Larry Vohs, Wichita, KS; 6 grandchildren, Jill Vohs, Scott Vohs, Stacy Schell and husband Jeremy, Angela Vohs, Sunday West and husband Mike and Douglas Ray; 5 great grandchildren, Adeline and Jackson Schell, Mikayla, Zachary and Isabel West; 1 niece, Linda Chaney and 1 nephew, Chris Chaney. Sister in law, Edna R. Butcher and husband Donald, Coffeyville,KS; Nieces, Vickie L. Carnine and husband Ronald, Coffeyville, KS;and Joyce M. Prater and husband Barry, Maumelle, Arkansas. The family suggests contributions to the Louisburg Senior Center or to American Legion Auxiliary.
