Juanita Ilene Bones, 83, of Ottawa, Kansas, passed away Saturday, September 10, 2016, at Princeton, Kansas. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, September 15, 2016, at the Princeton United Methodist Church. Family will meet with friends from 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Wednesday, September 14, 2016, at Dengel & Son Mortuary. Private family inurnment will be held at a later date at Princeton Cemetery. Juanita was born Sunday, May 21, 1933, in Fairview, Kansas, the daughter of Clement and Elsie (Snyder) Schmitt. She grew up in Fairview, moving to Topeka after graduation. Juanita lived in Germany one year while her husband Dale was in the service and then rural Princeton for the majority of her life, moving in 2010 to Ottawa, where she made her home until her death. She graduated from Fairview High School with the class of 1951. Juanita was united in marriage to Dale E. Bones August 7, 1955, in Powhattan, Kansas. He preceded her in death on June 11, 2010. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Clement and Elsie Schmitt; stepfather, Carl Wenger; and brother, Norman Schmitt. Survivors include her four children, David Bones and wife Elaine of Princeton, Steve Bones and wife Becky of Ottawa, Jana Gannon and husband Dennis of Carbondale, and Sandy Brown and husband Tom of Ottawa; sister, Loretta Hartter and husband Harold of Sabetha; fourteen grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Evelyn Gaddis of Goddard. Juanita was employed after graduation at the Kansas State Capital as a clerical worker from 1951 to 1955 and Southwestern Bell in Topeka from 1955 to 1956. She was not only a devoted homemaker she also worked for Sutton Jewelry in Ottawa; H.D. Lee in Ottawa as a seamstress in quality control from 1982 to 1986; and King Radio, also in Ottawa, as an assembler from 1989 to 1991. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Princeton and United Methodist Women. Juanita loved her family and the times they spent together.
