Juan Zenon Leiva, 81, of Ottawa, Kansas, passed away Monday, January 24, 2022, at Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka, Kansas. Family will meet with friends from 5:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M., Thursday, January 27, 2022, at Dengel & Son Mortuary, Ottawa. Interment will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, January 28, 2022, at Highland Cemetery, Ottawa. Juan was born February 14, 1940, in Encrucijada, Cuba, the son of Alfonzo Leiva Noa and Lucrecia Gonzalez Marrero. He lived in Miami, Florida for 53 years, before moving in 2015 to Ottawa with his beloved family. In the mid-1960’s Juan was united in marriage to Lina Consuegra in Chicago, Illinois. They were happily married over 50 years. For many years Juan was a pastor serving in many different communities. He also had a Christian radio show in Miami that he broadcast in Spanish and worked in carpentry and plumbing to assist the communities he served. He valued God, family and community in all that he did. Juan and his wife found happiness opening their home to foster children. He spent his life serving God and in recent years attended Bible Baptist Church in Ottawa. He enjoyed Origami, making boats and cranes, playing Dominos and other games with his grandson. Spending time with his family was one of Juan’s greatest joys. He was preceded in death by his wife Lina in 2015, and his parents’ prior at an unknown date to the family. Survivors include a son Willy Leiva, daughter-in-law Stephanie Leiva, and grandson Sage Leiva of Ottawa.
