Joyce G Harvey

Joyce G. Harvey, age 78, of Ottawa, Kansas, died Friday, September, 13, 2019 at AdventHealth Shawnee Mission. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M., Saturday, September 21, 2019 at Bethany Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Ottawa. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery in Ottawa. Family will meet with friends 9:30 A.M. to 11:00 A.M., at the church prior to services. Joyce was born on Friday, July 18, 1941 in Iola, Kansas, the daughter of Jackson and Essie (Rogers) Robinson. She lived in and attended schools in Iola, Kansas until moving to Ottawa in 1964. Joyce was united in marriage with Tyson C. Harvey, Sr. September 28, 1977, in Ottawa. He survives of their home. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jackson and Essie Robinson; son Homer G. Ambler and brother Jack Robinson, Jr. Joyce is survived by her sons, George Ambler and wife Christy, Mark Ambler, Dean Lane, Richard White III and wife Lisa, Tyson Harvey, Jr. and Tyrone C. Clayborne; daughters, Marie Ambler, Harriet Staffney and husband Vurna Jr., Tonya Harvey, and Carla Burney; brother, Sylvester Robinson and wife Juanita; thirty-four grandchildren; forty great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren. She worked as an assembler for 10 years at King Radio in Ottawa, retiring in the late 1980’s. Joyce was a member of Bethany Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, where she became a Deaconess and Missionary. She liked crocheting and fishing to pass the time and loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. Joyce deeply loved the Lord and her church family.
