Joseph L. "Joe" Strange

Joseph L. “Joe” Strange, 73, of Williamsburg, Kansas, passed away Sunday, July 21, 2013 at his home. Graveside Memorial Services will be held at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Williamsburg, Kansas, 9:00 A.M. Thursday, July 25, 2013. Family will meet with friends at Dengel & Son Mortuary, from 6:30 to 7:30 P.M. Wednesday, July 24, 2013. Joe was born on Sunday, April 14, 1940 in Casper, Wyoming. He was the son of Jodie Jordan. He was a lifelong Williamsburg resident. He graduated from Williamsburg High School with the class of 1958. On June 18, 1961 Joseph was united in marriage with Joyce Fogle in Williamsburg, Kansas. She survives of the home. Also surviving are his two children, Bob Strange and wife Jenifer of Drexel, Missouri, and Linda Hunt of Knoxville, Tennessee; seven grandchildren, Chris and Brandon Hunt of Knoxville, Bill, Michael, David, Joe, and Maggie Strange of Drexel; and sister, Joyce Fischer and husband Richard of Townsend, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jodie Jordan. Joe worked thirty-five years for Kansas Gas Service in charge of maintenance of pressure, retiring in 1998. After retirement, for several years, he owned Joe’s Small Engine Repair. Joe served in the United States Navy as a maintenance mechanic from 1958 to 1962.
