Johnny Lee Nichols, born on July 19, 1971, in Ottawa, Kansas, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2025, at the Olathe Hospice House. As a devoted carpenter for many years, Johnny built not only structures but also lasting relationships filled with love and respect. He found immense joy in his work, a passion that reflected his dedication to quality craftsmanship.

Johnny was a man of diverse interests. He loved carpentry, which was more than a profession; it was an art form to him. His enthusiasm for motorcycles and fabricating further showcased his creative spirit and love for hands-on projects that allowed him to express himself.

He is survived his cherished wife, Jessi Nichols of the home; their children: Joshua (Megan) Nichols, Christopher Jett, Cady Nichols, Tripp Nichols, and Chase Nichols, all of Ottawa, Kansas, grandchildren Jackson Nichols, Bryson Duvall, Harper Nichols, and Maddox Nichols, and by his mother, Susie Baker of Ottawa, Kansas. Johnny is also remembered fondly by his many aunts and uncles as well as his grandmother, Mary Lou Baker of Missouri. He is survived by his brother, Danny (Amber) Baker of Pomona, and his sister, Wendy (Jason) Murphy of Kansas.

Johnny is preceded in death by his father, Cliff Baker; his grandfather, Irvin Nichols; his grandmother, Eva Nichols; and his grandfather, Nilo Baker.

A visitation in honor of Johnny will take place on March 17, 2025, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Dengel & Son Mortuary, located at 235 S Hickory St, Ottawa, Kansas, 66067.

Johnny Lee Nichols will be remembered as a loving family man, a skilled craftsman, and a passionate individual whose impact on those around him will forever resonate in their hearts. His legacy will continue through the lives he touched both personally and professionally.
