John Tunks

John Charles Tunks, age 53, of Paola, passed away April 12, 2010, at the North Point Care Center. Memorials may be made to the Shriners in care of the Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home. John was born on August 11, 1956, in Paola, KS, to Denzel and Carolee Downs Tunks. He was a life long resident of Paola. He worked for King Radio as an assembler for many years. He enjoyed playing poker, working with his hands, crocheting, playing kings on the corner, spending time with fellow residence at the care center, watching TV, playing his computer games, listening to country music, and watching westerns. He was a member of the Paola Ruritan Club. John was preceded in death by his mother Carolee. Survivors are his father Denzel and wife Cheryl Tunks of Osawatomie, KS; step-brothers, Robert Mullikin of Colorado Springs, CO, and Timothy Mullikin of Paola; step-sister, Annett Meade of Blackhawk, SD; and many aunts and uncles. He will be dearly missed by family and friends.
