John Glenn Richardson

November 7, 1915 — July 20, 2010

John Glenn Richardson, 94, died July 20, 2010 at Louisburg Care Center. He was born November 7, 1915 at Louisburg, KS, the only son of Lon Lee and Vera (Corbin) Richardson. He was raised in Edgerton, KS and married a 20 year old school teacher in 1935. John lived in the Kansas City areas from 1947 to 1970, the Louisburg area until 1999 at which time he moved to Warsaw, MO near his second son for a few years. He then returned to Louisburg before moving into the nursing home. John was a welder for Black, Civil & Bryson and various manufacturers in the Kansas City, MO area. He also had a metal welding shop behind his home before returning to his father"s family farm in 1970. He enjoyed doing social welding jobs for friends and working odd jobs, gardening and the idea of a little farming. At the end of WWII, 1945, he served in the U. S. Navy Sea Bees. In his later life he loved senior"s two step dancing, music and senior social dancing. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Fern who died October 26, 1994, 1 son, Wyatt Richardson, daughter-in-law Lenore Richardson and 1 grandson, Mark Richardson. Survivors include, one son, Keith Richardson and wife Lorene, Springfield, MO; one daughter, Glenna Miller, Kansas City, KS; one granddaughter, who they raised for many years, Michelle Richardson, Nashville, TN; two grandsons ; one granddaughter and three great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held on Monday July 26, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Louisburg Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
