John Edward Buckley was born on Monday, April 29, 1946, in Kansas City, Kansas. He was the son of Maurice Buckley and Hattie (Hicks) Buckley. He lived in Kansas City, Kansas, moving to Gardner in 1973 and Ottawa in 1996 where he made his home until his death on Wednesday, April 30, 2008, at the age of sixty-two years. John graduated from Washington High School in Kansas City, Kansas, with the class of 1964. Working as a mechanic most of his life, John was employed by Amcor Manufacturing Co., Lenexa, Kansas, from 1990 to 2005. John served in the United States Army from 1965 to 1967. John was a true motorcycle enthusiast. He loved riding his Honda Gold wing around. He spent many evenings watching his favorite show Pro Wrestling. Most important to John was his family. He loved his time spent especially with his children and grandchildren. Watching them play sports was also a favorite of John's. On January 6, 1968, John was united in marriage with Margaret R. Maslak in Kansas City, Kansas. She survives of their home. Survivors also include son, Chris Buckley & his wife, April, of Ottawa, Kan; two sisters; three brothers; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in Death by Father Maurice A. Buckley, Mother Hattie Lucille (Hicks) Buckley, Son, Brian K. Buckley, Two Sisters, One Brother. SERVICES: Funeral services will be held from the Dengel & Son Mortuary at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 5, 2008. IN STATE: Friends may pay their respects to Mr. Buckley at the Dengel & Son Mortuary from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. Saturday, and 1:00 to 9:00 p.m. Sunday, where the family will meet with friends from 4:00 to 5:00 Sunday afternoon. CEMETERY: Highland Cemetery, Ottawa, Kansas.
