John C. Giager

John Christopher Giager was born on Friday, June 1, 1979, in Garnett, Kansas. He was the son of John and Renee' (Roecker) Giager. He grew up in Osawatomie and rural Paola. In 1992, he moved to Richmond, Kansas, where he made his home, until his death Friday, January 20, 2006, at the age of twenty-six years. John attended Central Heights High School with the class of 1997, later earning his GED. John loved life, and lived it to the fullest. Many have said, 'He experienced more in his short life than most people will in a lifetime.' John loved his family and friends, and enjoyed making all of us laugh. He was a caring person who loved with all his heart. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and being outdoors. John enjoyed writing poetry and drawing. He will always be remembered. He touched many lives, and we will always remember his loving heart and his big smile. John is survived by his mother, Renee' Giager of Richmond, Kansas; father, Johnny Giager of La Cygne, Kansas; sister, Jennifer Giager of Memphis, Tennessee; grandparents, Sondra and Lyle Brown of Richmond, Kansas, Wesley and Beverly Roecker of Chanute, Kansas; grandmother, Charlotte Giager of Osawatomie, Kansas; girlfriend, Denise; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his grandfathers, Wendell Giager and Bill Chambers. SERVICES: Funeral services will be held from the Dengel & Son Mortuary 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 25, 2006. IN STATE: Friends may pay their respects to Mr. Giager at Dengel & Son Mortuary after 5:00 p.m. Monday to the service hour, where the family will meet with friends 7:30 to 8:30 Tuesday evening. CEMETERY: Ruhamah Cemetery, Rantoul, Kansas. MEMORIALS: The family suggests memorials in lieu of flowers to John C. Giager Memorial Fund, c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S. Hickory, Ottawa, Kansas 66067.
