John R. (Jack) Broegman, 91, of Clay Center, Kansas, formerly of Paola, passed away at his home January 29, 2012. John was born on May 14, 1920 in Salem, Michigan, to Fredrick and H. Irene Hayner Broegman. He enlisted in the United States Army in Pontiac, Michigan in 1939 and was honorably discharged as Master Sergeant on June 15, 1945. John was united in marriage to Georga P. (Ginger) Eaton on October 27, 1945 in Olathe, Kansas. Together they lived in the Olathe area where John worked for RO Corporation of Olathe. They moved to the Paola area in 1991 until his retirement. Due to the passing of his wife and failing health, John moved to Clay Center to be near his niece, Bobbi Patterson. He was an active member of the VFW, Blue Lodge, and Shrine. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife; brothers Charles, Robert W., and Fred Jr. Broegman; sister Lillian Schultz; and sister-in-law Leona May Broegman. He is survived by two sisters-in-law Evelyn and Jesse, and many nieces and nephews.
