Joe Dale Holstine, 75, of Richmond, Kansas, passed away at home with his family by his side, Sunday, November 26, 2017. Celebration of life service will be held at 5:30 P.M., Friday, December 1, 2017, at Dengel & Son Mortuary. Joe was born May 24, 1942, in Elizabeth, Arkansas, the son of Luther and Alpha (Williams) Holstine. He grew up in Arkansas and later moved to the Kansas City area, moving in 1972 to Richmond, Kansas. Joe was united in marriage to Shirley Foster May 30, 1959, in Viola, Arkansas. She survives of the home. Other survivors include his three children, Cathy Haas and husband David of Richmond, Danny Holstine and wife Debbie also of Richmond, and Darrin Holstine and wife Lynda of Garnett; four siblings, Willie Holstine of Caulfield, Missouri, Mary Ruth Baker of Elizabeth, Arkansas, Louise Crotts of Mountain Home, Arkansas, and Devene Gilbreath of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas; eight grandchildren; fifteen great- grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren; and mother-in-law, Mildred Foster, age 105, of Salem, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Alpha Holstine; sister, Joy Lee Baker; and two brothers, James Holstine and Carmon Holstine. Joe worked at several Ottawa body shops and car dealerships including, Patterson Chevrolet and Clough Body Shop in the 1970s. He was the owner/operator of Joe’s Body Shop in Ottawa from 1978 to 2000 and from the body shop, re-established farming livestock and crops continuing his farming until his death. Joe was a family man always putting his family first. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and extended family, fishing, gardening, taking care of his cattle and being on his tractor. Joe was very thankful for the 14 years he had after his liver transplant. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Shirley Holstine c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S.
