JoAnn Delores Coffelt was born April 17, 1936 in Tacoma, Washington, daughter of Leslie H. and Hulda (Solderman) Washburn passed away on December 11, 2012. She attended grade school and junior high in Tacoma. Her family moved to Springfield, Oregon where she graduated from Springfield H.S. in 1954. JoAnn and Bill Coffelt were married at the United Lutheran Church in Eugene, Oregon on February 12, 1955. They made their first home in Honolulu, Hawaii where Bill was stationed in the U.S. Navy. After his discharge from the services, they moved to Osawatomie, Kansas, and then later to Pittsburg, Kansas while Bill attended Pittsburg State University. After living in Olathe, Overland Park and Sunnyvale, California, JoAnn and Bill moved to Topeka, Kansas in 1968 and remained in the area for the next 30 years before retiring to Bill"s hometown of Osawatomie in 1997. She spent most of her married years as a homemaker except for 9 years when she was employed by AT&T. JoAnn was member of the First Presbyterian Church of Osawatomie, Kansas. She was active member of the Chapter DO, PEO Sisterhood and the Presbyterian Women"s Group. Preceding her in death were her parents, mother-in-law Mabel Coffelt and great-grandson Zachary Alexander. Survivors include her husband Bill of the home, daughter Sheryl Edwards of Topeka, sons Mike (wife Ketti) and Scott (wife Sandi) all of Olathe, her sister Marilyn Maris of Raymond, Washington, five grandsons, a granddaughter and three great-granddaughters. Memorials are to the First Presbyterian Church or Chapter DO, PEO Sisterhood.
