Joan E. Morgan

Joan E. Morgan age 77 of Paola passed away Tuesday at St. Lukes Hospital. Funeral Service will be Saturday May 8th at 2:00 PM the 1st Baptist Church Paola, visitation Friday from 6 to 8:00PM Penwell-Gabel Paola Chapel, burial Wellsville Cemetery, Wellsville Kansas, memorials to the Church or American Cancer Society to leave condolences go to Penwellgabel.com Joan was born Jan. 16, 1932 in Wellsville, Kansas to Ora and Mettie Crist Cox. She grew up and was raised in the area all of her life. On June 25, 1948 she was united in marriage to Jack Morgan in Paola, Kansas. Together they became the parents of four children. Joan was a seamstress and homemaker and involved with the 1st Baptist Church, American Baptist Women"s Circle, Eden Chapel Aid, and Young Matrons Club. She was very active and supportive to her children and husband Jack before his passing. She enjoyed going antiquing with her husband going to Branson, and spending time with family and friends. Joan was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 brothers, Wilbur , Thirston, and Clifford Cox. Survivors are her children, son Bruce of Paola, Richard of Lawrence, Kenny of Leander TX., dau. Jackie Ruiz of Overland Park, sister Donna Ponsness of Paola, 19 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by family and friends. 1st Baptist Church 207 E.
