September 16, 1965 — April 3, 2013

Jimmy Wayne Wolverton, age 47, of Osawatomie, Kansas, passed away April 3, 2013 at his home surrounded by family and friends. Jimmy was born September 16, 1965 in Moline, Illinois to James W. Wolverton and Mary N. (Appleton) Wolverton Dunn. Jimmy took great pride in being able to read and write Braille and had helped make text books for blind students. He also earned certification in underwater welding and had hoped to travel to Alaska one day. Jimmy loved being an uncle to his seven nieces, five nephews, 10 great nieces, and 8 great nephews. He was a lifelong animal lover and had many cats and dogs throughout his lifetime. He enjoyed fishing at Osawatomie Lake and enjoyed working with his hands. His hobbies included weight lifting, auto body work, drawing and writing poetry. Jim had an easy going personality and never met a stranger. His laughter was infectious and he loved helping people and animals. Jimmy was preceded in death by his father and his beloved Grandma Appleton. He is survived by his mother Mary Dunn of the home; his sisters Dana Dunn of the home, Gina Owens and her husband Rich of Watson, Illinois, and Rhonda Ramsey of Raleigh, North Carolina; his brother Joe Wolverton and his wife Denise of Paola; step-brothers Walter Dunn and his wife Janet of Doniphan, Missouri and Jackie Dunn and his wife Ronda of Corning, Arkansas; as well as a very special friend Clarence Miller of LaCygne, Kansas who was as close as a brother; other relatives and friends. The family would like to thank the wonderful people at the Olathe Medical Center Hospice for helping to make Jimmy"s last days with his family very special ones.
