Jimmie Wilkinson, 55, passed away Thursday, August 28, 2014, at his home in Richmond, Kansas, with his family by his side. Cremation is planned. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 3, 2014, at Dengel & Son Mortuary. Jimmie was born Friday, March 20, 1959, in Union, South Carolina, the son of Dale and Joyce (Bobo) Wilkinson. He lived in Abbeville, Louisiana for many years. Jimmie has resided in Kansas for the past ten years, living in Williamsburg and moving to Richmond where he lived for the last three years. Jimmie was united in marriage with Susan Melvin August 4, 2007, in Ottawa, Kansas. She survives of the home. Survivors also include his two stepsons, William Coffman of Latham, Kansas, and Phillip Melvin of Olathe; sister, Aletha Reese; brother, Robbie Wilkinson; and half-brother, Michael Mollenhour. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Cynthia; and half-brother, Larry Mollenhour. Jimmie worked as a chief engineer on off shore vessels. He worked for several different companies for twenty-three years. He enjoyed fishing, camping, mowing and playing his guitar. He always looked forward to family and friends gathering and cooking out preparing his famous Cajun food and boiling crawfish. Jimmie will be missed and remain in the hearts and thoughts of his family and friends forever.
