Jileanne Ogilvy Beck, 78, went to be with her beloved Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on September 17, 2008. She passed away after a long struggle with PSP (a severe neurological disease) with her husband by her side in the home of her oldest son. Jill was born in 1930 and grew up as an only child in Eureka, Kansas. She graduated from Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri, then transferred to KU and received a degree in Interior Design in 1953. She met the love of her life while at KU and married Calvin E. Beck, Sr. on December 5th, 1954. Jill and Cal raised a family of three children in Mission Hills, Kansas. She was active in her community, volunteering at the Kansas City Philharmonic, the Kansas City Junior League, Great Books Club, and St. Luke"s Hospital Auxiliary. In 1982, Jill attended her first Bible study and was born again. Jesus, her church and the family of God became the center of her life. She was an inspiration to many, loved by many, and will be missed by many. She is survived by her devoted husband, Calvin E. Beck, Sr., her daughter, Julie and her husband, Jeff Earl of Louisburg, KS, her son, Calvin E. Beck, Jr. and his wife, Janell of Louisburg, KS, and her son, Joseph D. Beck of Ft. Myers, FL. Jill also has 12 grandchildren. A Gathering of Friends will be held from 1:00 p.m. " 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 20, at Penwell-Gabel Louisburg Chapel 120 S. Broadway, Louisburg, KS. A family graveside service will follow at the Louisburg Cemetery.
