Jessie "Bud" Turner

Jessie J. “Bud” Turner, 77, of Princeton, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2014. Family will meet with friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Friday, May 30, 2014, at Dengel & Son Mortuary. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, May 31, 2014, at Dengel & Son Mortuary. Interment Princeton Cemetery, Princeton, Kansas. Military honors by Fort Riley Honor Guard. Bud was born on Saturday, June 27, 1936, in Vinita, Oklahoma, the son of Jess and Nettie Mae (Bowers) Turner. He has been a resident of Princeton since the late 1950’s, moving from West Memphis, Arkansas. He was a lifelong mechanic, working twenty-five years in the oil service industry, and also maintained the buses for Central Heights schools, retiring in November 2013. Bud served in the United States Army, in the early 1960’s, attaining the rank of Specialist 4. He was a member of the Garnett Bowling Association, and the Miniature Airplane Flying Club. Bud was united in marriage with Lorine Mains February 29, 1964, in Garnett, Kansas. Survivors include his wife, Lorine Turner of Waverly; son, Clayton Turner and wife Donna of Princeton; three sisters, Sue Wilson and her husband H.L. of Richmond; Julia Stimpson of New Jersey; and Louise Webster of Joplin, Missouri; three grandchildren, Christina Morgan and husband Arthur of Waverly; Frank Turner of Princeton; and Dalton Turner also of Princeton; and four step great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Sidney Lennard Turner. The family suggests memorial contributions to Midland Hospice c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S.
