Jerald L. “Dink” Dryden, 74, of Ottawa, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2016, at Richmond Healthcare & Rehabilitation. Memorial services will be held at 6:00 P.M., Thursday, June 9, 2016, at Dengel & Son Mortuary. Dink was born Saturday, June 7, 1941, in Chanute, Kansas, the son of Howard and Lorene (Shaw) Dryden. He was raised and attended school in Chanute, moving to Ottawa, where he made his home until his death. Jerald was united in marriage with Sharon David October 6, 1961, in Ottawa. She survives of the home. Other survivors include his two children, Rod Dryden and wife Barbara of Ottawa, and Belinda Dryden and significant other Jay Sylva of Ottawa; two siblings, Sharon Jones and husband Jim of Ottawa, and Barbara Rice and husband Gary also of Ottawa; five grandchildren, Brandon Hartpence, Matthew Dryden, Emily Dryden, Ashley Dryden, and Caleb Dryden; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. He was employed for Iowa Beef Processors in Emporia; Stanert Construction building grain bins; and was a lead man in the re-work department for Ottawa Truck/Kalmar/Cargotec from June 1976 to his retirement January 2006. Dink attended a Baptist church as a child. He was involved with ABATE of Kansas, a state motorcyclist’s rights organization, Over the Road Gang, and Aesthetes Motorcycle of Kansas. He enjoyed working on his 1950 Ford and riding motorcycles when he was young. The family suggests memorial contributions to Franklin County Diabetes Association c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S.
